My sooooo cat life Homer, also known as Mr. Orange, is 4 years old and lives in Portland. He enjoys staring down the cat next door, resting, allowing his people to brush him, snoozing, stalking birds, napping, allowing his people to rub his belly, laying around, scaling telephone poles and, well... sleeping.

Death of a laptop, absence of a blog

Usually I can't wait to get up on Saturday morning and blog about my fascinating life. But this past weekend I couldn't do my usual.

My people's laptop died. It was terrible. First a prompt to restart due to a possible Trojan horse, then a computer that wouldn't come back on line. I was devastated when I saw the bright blue screen that read "Fatal error. Preparing for data dump."

My people were mad because then couldn't check the Chicks Picks football pool for the opening day of the NFL season. And they were even more mad because they just bought the laptop last Christmas. They didn't want to have to dump a bunch of money into a still new computer.

So what! Who cares about the cost? This is my livelihood. Blogs are expected from me, being that I'm a famous MainePets.com kitty, and I was unable to do my job. My fans must have been so sad when they realized I had not given them my usual witty commentary and adorable pictures.

I'm back this morning because I have access to one of my people's work computers. I dictate, my person types. Meanwhile, my laptop is at Best Buy waiting to be fixed. Five to seven days they tell me. So, maybe no blogging next Saturday either. Say it isn't so.

To all my fans, my apologies. Sometimes cats have no control over technology, but it doesn't mean I'm not thinking of you all. As proof, here's a photo of me in a blue mood on Saturday morning after my people broke the news to me.
