Brewster and puppy parties!

Brewster is alive, well and sleeping on my foot.
What ever is keeping that dog alive is beyond me. He is on his 8th month of his projected 2-6 to live. My own Vet said he has never seen a dog with lymph nodes the size of near baseballs live so long, and hasn't met any dog that lived that long without Chemo or other preemptive measures . I am not talking about 1 set of lymph nodes either, I am talking about all his lymph nodes.

Two weeks ago when I rushed him to the Vet, his hind foot had ballooned over night into a very sore looking pus factory. He looked horrible and he was clearly in pain. It was suspected that the reason he got that lesion on his hind foot was from a slight nick on the ice and then his enlarged lymph nodes on his knees were blocking blood flow. Brewster responded really well to the conventional treatment of antibiotics, anti inflammatory and pain meds. I would have placed odds in Vegas that his time had come. Darn dog was playing in the snow in my yard this morning. Talk about a roller coaster.
He has thrived on the cancer diet purchased from my Vet along with a twice daily supplement of Ocean Omega Fish Oil. I tried several times to make him a home prepared meals, but it didn't agree with him, and I never could seem to get it right. It if ain't broke, I ain't gonna fix it.

On another note, I am holding a puppy Party at Pet Quarters In North Windham, this Saturday from 11-12:30. Saturday's party is being held in honor of one of my private puppy clients who lives in the middle of no where and hasn't met very many pups yet. Free puppy parties will resume again every Saturday in March. Times are subject to change at this time, so be sure to
check my web site for info as the date comes closer. The party is for pups under 4 1/2 months, and I will be supervising play as well as answering behavior questions at that time.
You really need to go out of your way to socalize your winter puppy!
