A Great Find!
Meet BC. He is one of five kitties that live here at Sunshine Acres. He came into our lives in early summer of 2006 after husband Shawn sent me on a mission to pick up fencing staples at the local farm store, Long Horns in Buxton. I love going to Long Horns because you never know what kind of critters will be there for my viewing pleasure. Will there be adorable bunnies? Fluffy Silky chickens? Brilliantly colored peacocks? I entered the store and took a look around to see who was new. Baby ducks in a box warmed by a heat lamp? Saw them last week. Free hamsters looking for a good home? Thought about it briefly. An adorable kitten meowing to let me know of his discontent? Bingo! I scooped him up and he was all mine.
We drove home to find Shawn and a few of our friends out on the patio. I hold the kitten out for everyone to admire, fully expecting that everyone will share in my excitement about such a great find. We were met with a collected groan of “Oh Jeez!” Then Shawn asked me where the fencing staples were. Oh, I knew I forgot something.
Now BC has grown up to be such a great cat. He has great artistic abilities that he demonstrates in his favorite media - paper napkins and toilet paper. BC relishes the vertical look when working with the paper napkins. The artist achieves a volcano shaped pile by gently shredding the napkin so that it lands upon itself, forming a tall fragile pile. BC uses a different, more horizontal approach when working with toilet paper which he rips into itty bitty pieces and scatters everywhere. He definitely was a great find!
In the first picture BC is looking very innocent and very cute.

In the next picture BC is showing his true colors!
