YOUR DONATIONS
A suggested donation of 50 cents per vote will be directed to the Newspapers in Education program and the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland. Donations are tax deductible.

Newspapers in Education (NIE) Newspapers in Education is an innovative program that provides teachers and several hundred students across Maine with newspapers in the classroom. The newspaper is the most up-to-date "textbook" available since a new textbook is printed every day for students to learn from. Besides current events, the Press Herald/Telegram helps students learn a variety of subjects, from math to science to geography. And because it's different than a textbook, it makes learning fun. Proceeds from the Pet Idol contest are used to support this very worthwhile program. More...
